Robert Porter, Jr. is my 8th great-grandfather, and my shared common ancestor with Mary Ann Todd, wife of President Abraham Lincoln.

He was born 1698 in County Donegal, Ireland.

In 1740, at age 42, Robert married Lilleous Christy (b. 1707 – d. 1771) in Pennsylvania. A few years later, his father died (Robert Lee Porter, Sr. – d. 1745).

Robert died July 14, 1770, in Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and is buried at Fairview Village at the Norriton Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
