Victoria Keith, my 2nd great-grandmother, was born June 10, 1892 in Lewis County, West Virginia.

The 1900 Census lists 8 year-old Victoria as “At School”:

Victoria’s father (Joseph Oliver Keith, b. 1856) died on February 7, 1907.

Victoria, age 18, is married to George Vinton Lake by the 1910 Census. She is listed as being able to read and write:

Victoria’s mother (Serena Jane Cosner, b. 1854) died in June 1914. The following year, Victoria gave birth to my grandmother, Sara Mae Lake.

The 1920 Census shows that Victoria and husband George Vinton Lake are living in Jackson, Louisa County, Virginia:

Victoria’s son George Calvin Lake was born in 1922.

On the 1930 Census, Victoria and husband George Vinton Lake are back in West Virginia:

George Vinton Lake died on July 5, 1958, when Victoria was aged 66. Then on June 25, 1963, Victoria lost her brother, Floyd Ernest Keith.

Victoria died May 25, 1972 in Weston, Lewis County, West Virginia. She is buried at the Snyder Cemetery in Churchville, Lewis Co, WV.
