Bessie Dale Hoke, my great-grandmother, was born in 1915 in Meadow Creek, WV.

The 1920 Census shows her family residing in Green Sulphur, Summers Co, WV:

Bessie is age 14 on the 1930 Census:

On November 8, 1932, when Bessie was age 17, her father (Henry F. Hoke – b. 1868) passed away. Then in 1935 she married Joseph William Bleau, Jr.

The 1940 Census lists Bessie’s level of education as “High School, 4th year”:

On Sept 8, 1972, Bessie’s mom (Bessie F. Redden – b. 1887) died.

Bessie died in 1993 and is buried at the Richmond Cemetery in Sandstone, Summers Co, WV.
